Must Have Products To Style Short Hair

Must Have Products To Style Short Hair

If you follow me on social media, you might have seen that I recently got about 9/10 inches cut off my hair to donate to the Little Princess Trust, a charity who provide wigs to children who have lost their hair through illness or cancer treatment. Since I went for the chop, I have been learning how best to style my shorter hair. When I had longer hair, I would barely do anything to it. Nine times out of ten, it would be on top of my head in a bun. So, getting used to shorter hair has been an adjustment. There have definitely been some bad hair days, but I feel that these products all help me to achieve more manageable and easier to style hair.

You might have seen me raving about this in my Maria Nila Haircare blog post last month. Since then, this product has become a firm favourite in my haircare routine. I love this product as it is a two in one, it keeps my ends really hydrated and nourished whilst also acting as a heat defence. Now my hair is shorter, I have found that I have to blow dry it more to stop it looking like a frizzy mess. I have been worried about the damage I am doing to my hair by applying more heat to it, but this product makes me feel confident that my hair is protected.

When I had long hair, texture and volume was really important to me. But now it is short, I think it has become even more important - if that is even possible! I have a lot of hair, but it is pretty fine, so my hair can very easily look flat and lifeless. When my hair is wet, I have been spritzing this onto my hair pretty generously. I use this when I blow dry and also if I am leaving my hair to dry naturally. This really helps to give my hair body and texture to help with styling later. Waves and loose curls are my favourite way to style my shorter hair, this product has been really helpful to achieving that look.

Big Sexy Hair Full Bloom

Like a said before, I'm all about the volume. So there is no surprise that there is a thickening spray as part of my must-have products. I really love this product as it doesn't leave my hair feeling sticky and weighed down once dry. I have tried too many thickening products that leave my hair looking worse after using them. I spray this all over my hair - focusing mainly on the roots, and then dry my hair. You can visibly see the lift to the hair once dried, especially if you use a round bristle brush when drying to really lift at the roots.

Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray

Once dry, I love to run my GHD's through my hair to create loose curls/waves. I like the curls to look really relaxed and not perfect at all. So, to help with this, I like to spray my hair with this dry texturizing spray. I spray this onto the curls then scrunch the hair in my hands to give volume and mess the curls up a bit. In my September Favourites, I talked about a really good dupe for this product, the Batiste Stylist Texturizing Spray. It basically does the same as this Oribe product for a fraction of the price.
