Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation

Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation

This foundation is a cult classic, a 'ride or die' product for so many people. It's been on my wishlist for a long time, and with a busy summer of events and weddings, I knew I had to finally make this purchase. The Estee Lauder Double Wear is a medium to buildable coverage foundation. It claims to have 24-hour staying power, whilst I haven't been able to test the full 24 hours, I put this foundation to the test at two wedding where the product went on at 9am and was eventually taken off at around 2am.

I purchased this at the Estee Lauder concession in House of Fraser in Bristol. The lady who served me was so lovely and was more than willing to colour match me. She gave me a couple of options and was able to offer me advice to ensure that I was getting the perfect shade made. For me, this was so important. I wanted the colour to be perfect if I was spending a bit of money on it - unlike some of my drugstore alternatives. The lady who served me was also more than happy to apply the product to my whole face and let me go away and see how it lasted.

I found the application of this foundation was really easy. You have to move quickly with it in terms of blending it, but it blends into the skin really nicely without feeling like it was sinking into all my pores. Having skin on the dryer side, I was a bit worried that this foundation would just cling to my dry patches, but I really didn't notice this at all. The coverage of this foundation was a real plus point. It covered my under eyes and blemishes really well, with really no need for any concealer. In terms of it's staying power, I really couldn't fault it. My friends noted how well my makeup was staying on and actually asked what foundation I was wearing. At both weddings, I didn't need to apply any powder to touch up the foundation - I've never had this with a foundation. The only complaint I had was towards the end of the nice the foundation felt like it was feeling a bit heavy on my skin. I put this down to having dry skin and having heavy duty foundation on for a considerable time. However, this was a very small price to pay for all the other benefits I got from this product.

What's you're go-to choice for foundation? I'd love to hear your suggestions. Let me know in the comments, or find me on on Instagram and Twitter
