Blogtember: My Top High Street Beauty Brands

The Body Shop
The Body Shop has been such an iconic brand throughout my life. It was the place where I fell in love with skincare and beauty products, and I have been returning there ever since. Above is the two products that I am loving from The Body Shop at the moment. The Camomile Cleansing Oil is incredible. This is a bold statement, but I think I prefer it to my Emma Hardie cleanser! It completely breaks down all my makeup, particularly mascara, without being really harsh on my skin or eyes. I love it. After cleansing, I have been really enjoying the Oils of Life Intensely Revitalising Facial Oil. It's so nourishing on my skin, without leaving it feeling greasy.

Real Techniques
This brand is by far my favourite brands for brushes. The quality of the brushes is excellent for their price point. They aren't the cheapest brushes on the market, but their quality is as good as my Bobbie Brown ones, which are much more expensive. Not only are the brushes great, Sam and Nic Chapman seem like the loveliest ladies, I love their channel.

Garnier
Garnier has always been a staple skincare brand for me, ever since I was a spotty teenager. As I have got older (and less spotty!!) I still find myself reaching for this brand. Garnier really seemed to get it right with their Micellar Cleansing Water range. When I am feeling too lazy/tired for a full cleanse, I will always reach for this product without the guilt I feel when using a face wipe. It's so gentle on your skin, yet it is so powerful at removing makeup. I also love to use this in the morning to give my skin a refresh.

Dove
When I think of Dove, I will always think of bars of soap. It's such a distinctive scent. As much as I love this, my love for Dove comes from their fake tan. I have very sensitive skin when it comes to tan. With most self-tan, I will come out in a really itchy rash on my legs and arms. But this product has been a real game changer for me. I use this once or twice a week and there is no reaction at all on my skin - savior! I also love the colour this product leaves, it's such a natural bronze. It's basically a winner all around.

Makeup Revolution
If you are a regular reader, you know my obsession with Makeup Revolution. It's a brand that I came across not too long ago, but I am obsessed. The quality to price point is incredible. The blusher in the image above is £2.50 - yes, that cheap. The quality is incredible. The colour payoff from the eyeshadows and blushers is really good. I must try their new oval brushes - they look beautiful.

L'Oreal
L'Oreal has always been a staple brand for me, whether it's hair care or makeup. When they released their cushion range, my love for L'Oreal grew even more. The foundation gives a really lovely, light/medium coverage and leaves my skin with a lovely glow, which has been perfect for the summer months. I recently purchased their Galm Bronze Cushion De Soleil and I am just as in love. It blends so easily on the skin and leaves a really natural glow to the skin. They are a perfect combination.

Benefit
I will always remember Benefit for their Benetint which I remember getting one Christmas and walking around for the months following with unblended blusher! It was a product that I could never get on with. But as I have grown up, and thankfully got better with makeup, Benefit has always remained a staple brand in my makeup collection. I have to thank Benefit for my brows and my contour. I don't know where I would be without Gimme Brow and Hoola.

Rimmel
The Kate Moss lipsticks have been the most consistent presence in my makeup collection. They have the best shade range and are forever bringing out new shades or collections. For their price point, they are a really good quality lipstick. The nude collection has to be my favourite - it is full of lovely and really wearable shades. Because they are such good value, it always means that I can buy more!

Batiste
For my hair de-greasing needs, I will never stray from Batiste. I have tried other brands but nothing ever comes up to scratch. I recently came across their stylist range, and again, I am in love. I love the texturizing spray for when my curls are looking a bit limp. The XXL volume spray really helps to give my hair a bit of a boost, without the sticky residue. I really recommend them.

What are your favourite high street brands?
Love, Kate xx
