Blogtember: My Morning Routine

Some of my favourite blogs to read, or YouTube videos to watch are morning routines. I don't know if it's just because I'm really nosy, but I really love them. I like seeing what people get up to and, maybe, take on board some aspects of their routine. So, welcome to my morning routine....

6:00 - Wake Up

For me, my alarm goes off brutally early. I don't like to snooze my alarm, but I will spend 15 mins scrolling through my phone to help wake myself up. This is a habit that I hate and I really want to get out of it. I want to be able to be one of them people who can get up and get straight out of bed....I'm working on it.

6:15 - Morning Skincare

I love my morning skincare routine. I shower at night (I know, I'm weird!) so this really helps to wake me up. I feel makeup goes onto a clean face so much better, so I always try to stick to my morning skincare. I did a whole blog post on my morning skincare routine, you can find it here.

6:25 - Smoothie Time

While I am letting my moisturiser sink in, I like to head to the kitchen to make my breakfast. I am still loving smoothies - I have been throughout Spring and Summer. I did a blog post on my Summer Breakfast Smoothies, so I have been making either one of these smoothies most mornings. I find them so quick and easy for a weekday morning, and I generally drink it whilst I do my makeup. 

6:30 Hair & Makeup

Hair and makeup is very simple for me when I am at work. Little effort and no fuss. Don't get me wrong, I am presentable, but I keep everything very minimum compared to 'weekend Kate'. My hair is usually swept up into a messy bun - I haven't got time for hair in my face at work - and I like to do a 'no makeup, makeup' look.

6:50 - Get Dressed

My work wardrobe is very simple, so that's why it doesn't take me long to get ready. I have certain 'go-to' items for work which makes it so easy to get ready on a morning. You might notice, work for me is very much no fuss. Just the way I like it for a weekday! 

6:55 - Grab My Lunch

I generally (if I remember) make my lunch the night before work. Most of the time I will have leftovers, or I will have some kind of salad for work. So, on a morning this is generally a really quick process for me. If I forget, this is where my morning routine will be severely delayed! 

7:00 - In the Car

I don't have such a bad commute to work, about 40/45 mins. I love to listen to Radio 1 on my way to work. I love Nick Grimshaw (controversial?!) his show always makes me laugh and puts me in a good mood! 

7:40/7:45 - Arrive at Work & Check Emails

And the work day begins.....
