June Favourites

So June has been and gone, summer feels practically over...and here in the UK we haven't even had a summer yet. Soggy is the word I would use to describe this year's summer. But, while the weather has been a complete letdown, there has been some products that have been brightening my days.

I raved about this product in my Makeup Revolution haul and first impressions post. Having used this product a bit more, I am obsessed with it! I find the product blends so easy, unlike some other cream contours. I love the range of shades they have in this palette. There are shades for a brightening under the eye and a variety of contour shades to suit different skin tones, or to vary the severity of your contour. I could go on, but I will stop. I just urge you to try this out. For £8, this is a serious steal!!

Rodial Dragon's Blood Hyaluronic Tonic
I got this product within an M&S beauty box - I did a post about this too! I wasn't too sure what to expect from this product, thinking it was another gimmicky, expensive spray that didn't really do a lot. But I was so impressed with this product. I have combination complexion - with an oily t-zone and dry/normal skin everywhere else. I have been spraying this after cleansing in the morning and evening. I feel it has made such a difference to the feel of my skin. It normally feels really tight after cleansing - but this gives its a nice boost of hydration!

Before I can talk about the product its self, can we just talk about the scent of this product? It's actually like a Terry's chocolate orange. It smells incredible - good enough to eat you might say (but don't do that). Right now I have got the smell out of the way, to the actual product. This product is as good as it smells. It left my skin super soft and it was good knowing that I wasn't putting lots of chemicals on my skin like other scrubs. I got this sample pack in the Glamour Summer Edit box, but I will definitely be re-purchasing.

Maybelline Master Contour V Shape Duo Stick
I have been loving this product for when I need to do my makeup in a rush (like every morning before work!) It is super easy to swipe on the contour and highlight, blend and you're away. I wouldn't trade this in for the Makeup Revolution contour kit, but for mornings when I am in a rush this is a godsend for my cheeks!

I featured this product in a recent wish list post and, like my own fairy godmother, I granted my own wish and purchased this foundation. I am so happy I did. This has perfect coverage for everyday use, it is also buildable to full coverage. I love the dewy look this gives to your skin. With my oily skin, I am normally scared of the word 'dewy' but this product is lovely. It's also the perfect shade for me, which I find is rare.

I recently won a years supply of L'Oreal hair products - woop! I love the all the products in the range, seen my first impressions here. But, I feel this product makes the most different. I have really oily hair, to the point where I need dry shampoo the day after washing (!) But this product has made such a difference to the oiliness of my roots! I would really recommend to anyone with similar hair to mine.

I hate having my nails painted, why you ask, because they ALWAYS chip! It is my main annoyance in life. No matter what base or top coats I put on, they always chip. I have tried all the 'gel like' products and none of them seem to work for me...until now. This is my saviour. I actually lasts on my nails and doesn't chip. Hallelujah! It's also a beautiful colour, I will definitely be heading to Nails Inc to buy more.

What have been your favourite products in June?

Love, Kate xx

  2. Hey Lovely,

Sorry about my previous comment, I drafted the message and sent it to the wrong blog post! I shouldn't be allowed to multi task!
I really do love this post! I'm loving the Revolution palette's too!!
I was wondering if you had heard of the little photo trick on blogger. So if you go to HTML view and find where you have placed the images and it will say something like "/s400/_MG_5405.JPG" or another lower number may be there. If you change it to s1600, your blog post images should appear a lot crisper and sharp and eliminate blurryness.

Sorry if you already know this or if that sounded lectury :/
I didn't know this trick when I started blogging and it really did help improve the quality of my posts!

    1. Haha, no problem!
Ah, I always thought my images didn't look right when I uploaded them to Blogger. Thank you so much for this! Not lectury at all - I appreciate all the feedback I can get :)
